Well, we have submitted our background-check paper work to the agency, and now we have to get our finger prints done this week. After that, we have to update our home-study and get some new pics for our profile. I think that's all we have to do to get our profile back on the web! It should all be done with in the next 4-6 weeks.
I have been updating our letter that goes on our It's About Love profile page (this is the fancy version) .... what do you think? ......
Hey Friends,
Thank
you for taking a minute to check out our profile! We know you have some big decisions
to make and we are grateful that you are looking at all of your options. We
know that whatever decision you make, it will be the right decision for you and
your baby. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
How We Met
Travis
and I met at the “First Night” party on New Year’s Eve, 2003, in Salt Lake City through friends of my roommates at Weber State
University . We became
fast friends and we had a lot in common. Travis invited me to go night-four-wheeling
with a group of friends in February, and yeah, it was freezing, but I couldn’t
turn down four-wheeling in the snow! We caught air going over a huge snow drift,
and we landed so hard that Travis’ head whipped
back and hit me in the face… I got a black eye and a bruised nose, and Travis
felt awful, but I thought it was hilarious! We dated for about three months
before becoming engaged. It was like we had been best friends all our lives,
our relationship just came naturally. We were married that August in 2004.
About Travis
Travis
is the only boy and the middle child in a family of three kids. He grew up in Davis County , Utah .
He served a two year LDS mission in New Zealand . He loved it there; he
still loves the Polynesian people, and their amazing culture. After his
mission, Travis attended Weber
State University ,
graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing, and has been working
in the banking industry for about eight years now.
One
of my favorite times of day is when Trav gets home from work. Mason gets so
excited to see him and runs to the door to climb up on Dad. Travis is such a
great father, he loves to wrestle with Mason, build Lego towers, and take Mason
on bike rides and walks to the park. You can just see how much he loves Mason
and loves being his dad.
About Erin
It
would take too many pages to write about how I feel about Erin
and why I love her so much. Erin is one of the
most naturally talented people that I know. She is an incredible artist, a
natural athlete, smart as a whip, plus she is a screwball, and on top of all
that she’s absolutely beautiful! She has one of the most infectious laughs that
I have heard.
She
has so much love, knowledge, and creativity to share with our children. Erin is one of the most natural loving mothers I have
ever witnessed. When Mason was placed in her arms she looked so natural and
comfortable. I have envied her ability to instinctively know what to do when
Mason isn’t feeling well, or how she gets him to settle down right before going
to bed. She always seems to make the right decision when it comes to what is
best for Mason. You always know when Erin
enters the same room, because Mason’s face lights up with a big smile and has
such a happiness that you can’t help but smile with him.
About Mason
Our
little “Masonator” turned two years old in May, 2013. He is a rowdy, curious,
funny little boy, with the most handsome blue eyes you have ever seen! He loves
to be loud, and to get in to mischief. He is full of energy; always on the go,
running, jumping, and climbing. Mason is such a smart kid; it’s so fun to watch
him figure out how things work, often on the first try. He will play with
anything electronic that he can get his hands on – phones, remote controls,
computers, iPods, you name it and he will find it!
Mason
loves playing with friends, fixing things with his toy tool set, swimming, and
reading his books. He’s great at helping Mom clean up the house with his toy
vacuum, broom, and mop. Mase loves animals; especially our two out-door cats,
Fu Manchu, and Butter Cup. He always wants to pet them and give them hugs.
Mason thinks it’s pretty funny to play “sneak attack” with Mom or Dad, which
mainly involves one of us carrying him up behind the other, and then yelling
“SNEAK ATTACK!!”
Mason’s
birth-parents are very special to us. We love them both so much and are forever
grateful to them for choosing us as Mason’s parents. We are lucky to have a
great open relationship with each of them; emailing and texting pictures and
updates back and forth. We know that our next adoption situation may be
different, but our goal is that everyone is happy and comfortable with how open
or closed our relationships may be.
Our Interests
We
love the outdoors! When visiting our families in Utah ,
we like to go to Moab , Bear Lake , Park City , and
the Uintah Mountains . We are still finding our
favorite places in Washington ,
but all the lakes are amazing! During our summers we love to go 4-wheeling,
camping, hiking, mountain biking, boating, and fishing. In the fall, we start
getting ready for hunting season – gear up the 4-wheelers, and tune up our bows
for archery. We both really enjoy basketball, tennis, and volleyball; sports in
general – year round.
We
have always liked to read, and over the years we have built up quite a library.
We both really love listening to, and can appreciate, all kinds of music: rock,
country, hip-hop, alternative, opera, classical, blues, oldies, anything. Mason
loves to rock out to a good beat! We enjoy playing games – card games, board
games, video games. We play a mean x-box; mainly the co-op games, it’s much
more fun when we are on the same team, because we are both pretty competitive.
Family Traditions
We
love to travel; we have been to Fort Lauderdale ,
Puerto Vallarta , Cancun, Oahu, Kauai ,
and the Grand Bahamas. Since Mason joined our crew, we have toned it down a
little and vacationed a little closer to home. Mason’s first major road trip
was to Las Vegas .
It was so fun to go to the Aquarium and check out the sharks! More recently, we
went to Seattle
to see the Space Needle. We can’t wait to travel to lots of amazing places with
our kids someday.
Living
away from our families makes it hard to get together as often as we would like.
But it has become a tradition with Travis’ family to go to Park City , Utah
at the end of the summer. We go shopping, ride the Alpine Slide, and of course,
play in the hotel pool with cousins. Besides hunting every fall, Travis and his
uncles also go fishing at Flaming Gorge the day after Thanksgiving.
A
very long standing tradition in Erin’s family is to go to Bear Lake , Utah
every summer. Mason especially loves playing with his cousins in the water,
throwing rocks in the lake, and jumping on Grandma and Grandpa’s gigantic
inflatable raft. The adults always start a competitive game of volleyball after
dinner, or play cards or board games after the kids go to bed.
Much Love…
Thank you again for taking the time
to learn a little about our family. We know that God is with you as you make
the right plan for you and your little one. We love you and wish you the best
in all your endeavors, and we are keeping you in our prayers. You can also

Travis, Erin, &
Mason
We ask that you all please keep our next "potential birth-parents" in your prayers. We pray that she/they will be able to find our family through the guidance of our loving Heavenly Father, and that she/they can feel the peace, and love they so deserve.
Much Love,
Erin, Travis & Mason
